USA Today vio el robo a Golovkin

Cayó el rayo en el mismo lugar, por segunda vez. Gennady Golovkin es víctima de una decisión en su contra, por parte de los jueces, totalmente cuestionable y vergonzosa.

Aunque fue un combate intenso, de buen nivel y bastante balanceado, la inmensa mayoría de las personas que se han expresado en las redes están ofendidas con esta decisión mayoritaria a favor de Canelo Alvarez.

Un juez la vio empate 114-114, mientras que los otros dos vieron ganar al mexicano 115-113.

Si usted es uno de tantos indignados con la apreciación de los tres jueces, y que ésto es un descaro en contra de GGG, pue sepa que no está sólo.

Aquí reproducimos la lectura de la pelea por parte del perito en boxeo en el USA Today, Josh Peter, quien vio ganar a Golovkin siete de los doce asaltos, para un triunfo 115-113.

Peter tenía a Álvarez arriba luego de 8 rounds 77-75, pero vio a Golovkin cerrar más fuerte y contundente en los últimos 4 asaltos para lograr la remontada. Al sumar 10-9 en cada uno de los episodios 9, 10, 11 y 12, el peleador kazajo terminó sumando 115, contra 113 el azteca.

A continuación, la descripción detallada de Josh Peter, para el USA Today, sobre otro controversial final entre Golovkin y Canelo:


ROUND 1: GGG firing jabs. Alvarez counters. Fires left hook. More jabs from GGG. Fighters standing toe to toe in center of ring. But action is tame. GGG firing more jabs. Alvarez unleashes punches. Only a few land. Round GGG, 10-9.

ROUND 2: All jabs from both fighters. Still in center of ring. Big left uppercut lands for Alvarez. Alvarez follows with a jab. And a combination from Alvarez. More from Alvarez. Strong body shot. Alvarez looking good. Alvarez stalking. GGG appears to have suffered a cut over the eye. But GGG firing back. Solid jab. Big upper cut to body for Alvarez. GGG back with two left hooks Shaping up to be a great fight. Round Alvarez, 19-19.


ROUND 3: Alvarez landing a variety of shots. GGG not hurt, but he’s not looking like his dominant self. Upper cuts, body shots coming from Alvarez. Rights from Alvarez. GGG back with jabs. Effective. Alvarez unleashing powerful punches. Some landing. GGG looking more comfortable now. Well, for a few seconds anyway. Alvarez still in control of pace. Round to Alvarez, 29-28.

ROUND 4: Fighters trading blows at center of ring. GGG now on move. Heavy uppercut for GGG. Avarez responds. Action picking up. A flurry of shots from both fighters. GGG connecting. But Alvarez is the on moving forward, stalking slightly. Big upper cut from GGG. Action intensifies again. Body shot from Alvarez. Back to the center of the ring. Round GGG, 38-38.

ROUND 5: GGG lands solid jab. Back in center of ring. Fighters' left fists fly. GGG connecting lots jabs. But Alvarez appears to be in control of the pace. Alvarez stalking. GGG hanging in with the jabs. Alvarez fires back with his own jabs. Jab fest here. Body shot from Alvarez. He’s landed many of them. Alvarez swinging for fences. Hasn’t landed the big shot yet. Round Alvarez, 48-47.

ROUND 6: Alvarez still stalking. Even when GGG lands punches. GGG sticking with jab. Alvarez lands a heavy shot and good hook to body. Alvarez has landed lots of body shots. GGG must be feeling it. GGG sticking with the jabs, and they’re landing. But now Alvarez stalking again. Firing and landing. Back comes GGG. Fighters at center of ring and firing away. Nothing big lands. Round GGG (barely), 57-57.

ROUND 7: Feels like it’s about to turn into a war. GGG less inclined to back up. But Alvarez firing hard left uppercuts. At least one gets through to body. GGG fires with that jab. No stalking. Center of the ring. Alvarez lands a nice shot to GGG’s head. But GGG not dazed. In fact, he answers with a flurry. Round to Alvarez, 67-66.

ROUND 8: Big rights by Alvarez. And a left too. Alvarez looking fresh. But GGG responds with hard right. Alvarez not bothered. Appears to be looking for the kill shot. Taking punches to give them. Trading some heavy punches. GGG landing, but nothing big. Alvarez uncorks a few big shots, one lands, but GGG is now the aggressor. GGG with hard left hook. Blood on Alvarez’s face. Still Alvarez earns round, 77-75.

ROUND 9: No rest for he weary. Both fighters unleashing heavy shots. Solid ones landing, but no thunderbolts. GGG maintains more aggressive approach now. Although here comes Alvarez, stalking again. Trading jabs now. Uppercut from GGG. Fans getting their money’s worth. Both fighters landing punches. Round GGG, Alvarez leads 86-85.

ROUND 10: Alvarez lands big. GGG answers. Now Alvarez hurt. Looks to be in trouble. GGG has staggered him with a right. Back Alvarez comes. Lands a solid uppercut to body. GGG lands hard right. Alvarez comes right back with straight left. Smells like a knockout, but again round ends before the big blow lands. Round GGG, 95-95.

ROUND 11: GGG looks fresher. Now both are unloading heavy punches. Both landing power shots. GGG appears to be getting the better of these exchanges. Yet Alvarez somehow moving forward. GGG looks like the craftier fighter. But Alvarez showing plenty of heart — and power. Another hard left hook to head for GGG. Alvarez answers again with a combo. But round belongs to GGG, 105-104.

ROUND 12: GGG pounding Alvarez. Several shots to the head. But Alvarez moving forward, unleashing punches. Alvarez slips to knees. Maybe a sign of fatigue. Alvarez appears to know he needs KO here. Fighters trading solid shots. But both fighters now looking exhausted. Alvarez giving it all he’s got. Solid body shot. But GGG appears to know he’s got this on points. Not taking too much chances. A last gasp from Alvarez, but this flurry won’t be enough. Round GGG, 115-113.
