Este próximo fin de semana de Thanksgiving, además de los tradicionales juegos de football de la NFL, también habrá un magno evento en el deporte estadounidense.

Me refiero a la ronda de las mejores 8 universidades del 'College Cup', el campeonato nacional de fútbol femenino de la NCAA.

Este viernes 29 de noviembre, día del famoso 'Black Friday', se celebran los cuatro desafíos correspondientes a los 4tos de final.

Las parejas son las siguientes:

- No.1 FSU vs. No.2 UCLA | 3 p.m @ Tallahassee, Florida
- No.1 North Carolina vs. No.2 USC | 7 p.m @ Chapel Hill, N.C
- No.2 South Carolina vs. Washington State | 7 p.m @ Columbia, S.C
- No.1 Stanford vs. No.2 BYU | 7 p.m @ Stanford, California

De ahí saldrán los 4 oncenos a las semifinales, las que se jugarán, así como la final, el 6 y 8 de diciembre en San José, California.

El torneo comenzó hace dos semanas con 64 equipos divididos en 4 llaves. Cada 'bracket' tenía una siembra del 1 al 4 para sus mejores universidades. De los cuatro No.1 sólo Virginia falló en llegar hasta la actual ronda.

"Having played against UNC (University of North Carolina, Tar Heels) and FSU (Florida State University, Seminoles) in ACC conference play, I know that both those teams are powerhouses and are full of talented players. I would not be surprised if both UNC and FSU returned to the semifinals."
